For a taste of fresh air and history, visit Allerton Park and Stately Home, or the National Trust property Beningborough Hall, or you can go even further back in time at the magnificent Fountains Abbey.

York is of course famous for its shops, offering everything from the quirky independents of the historic Shambles to the big brand names of the Coppergate Shopping Centre. TransportGreen Hammerton lies just off the main A59 York Road, just 8 miles to the west of York and 10 miles east of Harrogate, and is connected to the two by regular bus services. The A1(M) is just 3½miles to the west, offering connections to the North East, the East Midlands and London. Knaresborough is 8 miles, Wetherby is 11 miles and Leeds is 26 miles.
Trains from nearby Hammerton Station, just 1 mile away, connect to Knaresborough in 11 minutes, and Harrogate beyond in around 20 minutes. In the other direction, York is just 15 minutes away, where you’ll find connections to London King’s Cross in around 2 hours.
