Gladstone Leigh is located in a semi-rural setting just north of the village of Hawarden, 11 kilometres west of the city of Chester. The A494 Queensferry Road, which is just a couple of minutes drive from the development, links to the M53 and M56 to the east and the A55 North Wales Expressway to the west. Chester, Wrexham and Liverpool are all within easy commuting distance. Hawarden Station, situated on the Borderlands Line, is the closest train station. Trains to Wrexham take just over 30 minutes and the train journey to Liverpool, via Bidston, takes approximately an hour. Liverpool John Lennon Airport (45 kilometres) and Manchester International Airport (60 kilometres) are both easily reached by car.

Deeside's famous leisure centre has many activities on offer, and also includes an ice skating rink.
