As the largest town for miles around, Shrewsbury has many more schools than you would expect, with no less than seven comprehensive schools to choose from. For younger children, Greenfields Primary and Mount Pleasant Primary are both within easy reach.
Shrewsbury is also home to some well-respected private schools, including Shrewsbury School and Shrewsbury High School for Girls. Shrewsbury is a popular tourist spot, with lots to see and do all year round. There are over 650 listed buildings in the town, including a castle and an abbey, plus spectacular Shropshire scenery in all directions. Just nine miles from the Welsh border, you’ll find the stunning castles of the Welsh marches close at hand, with the mountains of Snowdonia and beaches of Cardigan Bay are both within easy reach for a fun family day out.
Closer to home you’ll find top sports facilities at Granges Sports Centre, as well as Quarry Swimming and Fitness in the town centre. You’ll also find a challenging round at several local golf courses, including Meole Brace, Arscott and Shrewsbury golf clubs. For evening entertainment, Shrewsbury has an independent cinema, The Old Market Hall, in town, plus a Cineworld multiplex just to the south, along with the popular riverside Theatre Severn.

Shrewsbury attracts shoppers from a wide catchment area, and so has more than its fair share of shops to serve them. There are four main shopping centres in town, including the Darwin Shopping Centre, Pride Hill and Riverside, along with the Parade, which exclusively houses independent stores.
In between the big shopping centres, you’ll find a maze of ancient streets and alleyways, with something new and exciting to discover at every turn.
If you prefer to shop out of town, try Meole Brace Retail Park to the south, or Sundorne Retail Park to the north.

Shrewsbury is the area’s major intersection, offering a choice of road and rail routes in all directions. The main A49 and A5 cross to the west of the town, with the M54 link just 10miles to the east leading to the M6 beyond. Telford is 15miles, Birmingham 45miles, both Stafford and Stoke on Trent are around 35miles, Wrexham is 27miles and Chester 40miles.
No less than five main rail lines converge on Shrewsbury Station, within walking distance of the development, offering you regular trains across the region. There are two direct trains a day to London in just 2½hr, along with trains to Birmingham and Chester in under an hour.
When you are heading further afield, Birmingham, Manchester and Liverpool airports are all less than 50 miles away.
