Mortar
Colour differences
Mortar is used to fill the gap between bricks and provide a consistent finish.
Your mortar should be reasonably uniform in texture, finish and colour.
If you can see any colour difference when standing 10 metres from your home in natural daylight then let us know.
Cracked
As your new home naturally dries out and settles, some minor shrinkage cracking may occur between masonry units (bricks and blocks) and mortar joints; this is nothing to worry about and is not classed as a defect.
Missing
If mortar is missing then contact us providing photographs so that our contractors can attend and remedy this.
Please note that expansion joints between brickwork and render are filled with mastic and not mortar.
