Internal doors
Damage
Our internal doors are supplied by a national company, fitted by qualified and experienced carpenters and hand painted by experienced painters.
Occasionally damage can occur when we are putting the finishing touches to your home. Should you notice any damage to your internal doors or their fittings (known as the door furniture and including handles, locks and other fixtures), this should have been raised during your Home Preview or at your Courtesy Check.
If you accidentally mark any of the doors whilst living in your home we will happily provide you with the details of the paint used so you take care of it as part of your home owner maintenance.
Ease or adjust
As your home dries out and settles, your internal doors may need easing and adjusting so they can continue to operate as normal.
We recommend that you use a 3 in 1 lubricant oil and apply it to the closing mechanism; lift the handle up and down to allow it to soak in. Clean the frame and hinges with a damp cloth to remove any grit and dirt; then apply the lubricant to a clean cloth and wipe over the hinges.
If you continue to experience issues then one of our Maintenance Technicians will be able to attend to make any necessary adjustments.

Some slight variations are normal and you must be able to see the damage or paint issues when standing at least 2m from the door in natural daylight.
Sealant
Door frames are sealed as part of their fitting.
The sealant, otherwise known as mastic, may loosen or shrink as your home naturally dries out and settles. This can be dealt with during routine home owner maintenance and is not classed as a defect.
