Damage

A personnel door is an additional entry to your garage. Our personnel doors are supplied and fitted by a specialist contractor and hand painted by our experienced painters.

Occasionally damage can occur when we are putting the finishing touches to your home. Should you notice any damage to your personnel door or the fittings, this should have been raised during your Home Preview or during your Courtesy Check.

Doors can become marked over time and with frequent use; if you need to attend to this you can find details of the paint we have used in your Redrow Homefile.

Ease or adjust

We recommend carrying out regular home owner maintenance to ensure that the door can be easily opened and closed.

We suggest using a 3 in 1 lubricant oil on the handle, hinges and lock as well as a damp cloth to remove any unwanted debris or cobwebs.

Should your door still need adjusting then we can organise for either one of our experienced Maintenance Technicians or the specialist contractor to attend.;

Frames & architrave

Any damage to your personnel door frame either internally or externally should have been raised during your Home Preview or at your Courtesy Check.

We recommend carrying out home owner maintenance to the frames by cleaning them regular with warm soapy water and a damp cloth.

Handles/locks/hinges

Your door handles, locks and hinges should have been checked when you first moved in.  Any damage should have been raised during your Home Preview or at your Courtesy Check.

We recommend carrying out regular maintenance of your doors to ensure that they open and close effectively. Use a damp cloth to clean the inside of the frame and opening mechanisms to remove any grit or dirt. Applying a 3 in 1 lubricant oil to the locking system and on the hinges with a clean cloth should help.

Paint/finish

A personnel door is an additional entry to your garage. We recommend checking the paint and finish of your personnel door when you move in.

Should any concerns be noticeable in daylight when standing 3m from the door then we will attend to these as part of the warranty.

Paint does fade over time and may also chip during the course of your usage. This would not be covered under your warranty but you can find details of the paint we have used in your Redrow Homefile to attend to it as part of your routine home owner maintenance.

Selant

Your personnel door is sealed with mastic both internally and externally to ensure that it is water tight.

As your home naturally settles and dries out, and over time, the mastic can occasionally begin to loosen and pull away; this can be dealt with during routine home owner maintenance and is not a defect.
