Plugs & pop up waste
Not sealing
Occasionally the spring loaded push-button sink plugs become sticky and no longer seal or let the water drain away. This is usually due to a build up of soap scum, mould, etc.
If the plug is jammed shut, push down on the top surface while trying to rotate anticlockwise, they will usually come apart pretty easily. Clean as thoroughly as possible, if required, spray with mould killer and wash the whole thing in hot water. Now work the pop-up action several times (open and close) to ensure it is free to move and place it back to your waste.
