Porcelanosa top 3 flooring choices
Leading ceramic tile manufacturer Porcelanosa offers an extensive range of tile finishes. The brand’s products combine innovative design and unbeatable quality, making them a popular choice with our homeowners.
1. Image White
(Featured above) Takes the top spot for the best flooring for bathrooms from Porcelanosa as chosen by our homeowners. “The matt-gloss finish and stone effect of Image White makes it a popular tile. For example, in the Leamington show home at Daresbury Garden Village in Cheshire we’ve used it to tile both the floor and the walls for a clean contemporary look inspired by a luxury spa,” Helen added. Soft neutrals and grey tones have been a prominent interior design trend in recent years, with Image Silver and Dover Acero among the grey bathroom tiles favoured by our homeowners. Image Silver (pictured below) is a grey stone effect tile, as featured in the Leamington show home at Oakleigh Fields in Rochester, Kent. For those looking for a concrete effect, matt finish tile Dover Acero is a great option, as seen in the Henley show home at Hendricks Green in Waltham Cross, Hertfordshire.
2. Rivoli
Is a white ceramic tile with a matt finish and a subtle veined marble effect. If you’re looking for new homes flooring inspiration, this versatile tile is a great option to provide an elevated sense of luxury and has been used in both kitchens and bathrooms by our homeowners.
3. In third spot, is Madagascar Blanco.
This white ceramic tile with a matt finish and a stone effect can be seen in many of our customers’ homes. Helen Joseph, from our in-house interior design team, said: “This tile is so adaptable and makes a great choice as a neutral backdrop. We love to use this in our downstairs cloakrooms and layer with a bold paint colour to really express personality.”
Helen added: “If you’re looking for the best flooring for bathrooms white is a timeless choice that will remain relevant for years to come, conveying a sense of understated glamour and luxury. It’s therefore no surprise that shades of white tiled flooring are favoured by our homeowners.
“When it comes to the best flooring for kitchens, our homeowners love Porcelanosa’s range of wood effect, matt finish, porcelain tiles including Smart Tanzania Silver (pictured below), Chester Acero and Smart Minnesota Ash.
“Dark moody tones (as shown below) are a key interior trend for 2024,” Helen added. “In the kitchen of our Chester show home at Oakleigh Fields we’ve opted for a dark feature wall, perfectly paired with the inky tones of the kitchen, offset with neutral paint to the other walls and Chester Acero flooring running throughout from Porcelanosa.”
Amtico top 3 flooring choices
Luxury vinyl tiles (LVT) from Amtico are a stylish and practical solution, offering hard-wearing, durable scratch-resistant surfaces that are warm, comfortable and easy to clean. They’re available in realistic wood and stone effects, along with more typical tile finishes. The wood effect is favoured by our homeowners and can be used in the kitchen and bathroom as, unlike natural wood, LVT flooring won’t shrink, warp or scratch. If you’re looking for the best flooring for underfloor heating, LVT is a great option. Underfloor heating is now available as standard in our detached Eco Electric homes.
1. Nordic Oak
Offers natural detailing, with a silver-grey wash and an ultra-refined finish to capture the essence of a modern Scandinavian feel. “We’ve used herringbone Nordic Oak LVTs in our show home at Tabley Park in Knutsford, Cheshire,” Helen added. “Herringbone flooring really draws the eye, adding interest and depth and helping emphasise the sense of space.”
2. White Ash
(pictured below) Brings fresh and muted chalky tones. “Whitewashed wood effect flooring like White Ash can really lift a space, drawing the natural sunlight into the room and making it feel open and airy,” Helen explained. “The Chester show home at Bishop Meadows in Oldham shows how this flooring can add contrast and visual interest when paired with a darker kitchen.”
3. Sun Bleached Oak
Is a distressed, natural grey LVT that adds a cool-toned, contemporary look to any home and is another clear-cut favourite with many of our discerning customers.
Johnson Tiles
Our in-house interiors team has worked with our supplier Johnsons to design our own bespoke tile ranges, in a variety of tones with new textures and shimmering elements.
1. Bianco Matt White Marble Tiles
(pictured below) As seen in our Windsor show home at Temple Woods in Strood, add a touch of elegant luxury to a bathroom. “At Redrow we love to add a splash of colour to half height tiling, in soft earthy tones which warm and envelope the space, creating a real feeling of sanctuary,” Helen added. 2. Melford Light Grey Tile
(as seen below) Are a classic choice, inspired by the beauty and irregularity of natural marble. In our Oxford Lifestyle show home at Lavant View in Chichester we’ve paired this tile with mood-boosting warm tones. “Opting for warm, earthy and baked hues can make a real difference to a bathroom, helping create a sense of warmth with dopamine enhancing shade. The contrast between the grey marble effect tiles and the orange hues in this show home gives an uplifting feel while adding an injection of playful personality to the space,” Helen said.
3. Ashlar Weathered White
Is a stone effect tile which can brighten and energise a room.
“If you’re looking for the best tile for kitchen flooring, an aged, sun-bleached, wood effect option like Kielder Wood Plank Frosty Oak (as seen below) is a great neutral,” Helen suggested. “We’ve used these tiles in the Windsor show home at Temple Woods in Rochester, pairing it with a crisp white kitchen and layering with textural boucle and near black furniture for a look that’s on trend.”
