Read on to find out more about the regally inspired names of some of our largest and most luxurious new homes.
The Balmoral
Balmoral Castle and Estate has been the Scottish home of the Royal Family since 1852 when it was purchased for Queen Victoria by Prince Albert. They’d initially leased the castle a few years earlier, and once they completed the purchase, they decided to build a larger one just 100 yards away from the original.
Buyers of our Balmoral won’t have to worry about their new home being large enough for their family as this is a substantial four-bedroom family home. It has a commanding exterior design, including portico-covered entrance, protruding gable supported by gallows-style brackets, decorative stone cills, roof finials, a double-height bay window and traditional-looking doors and windows.
Inside the kitchen encompasses a dining area, with wide patio doors opening out onto the rear garden. Double doors lead from this sociable space to the adjoining lounge, which also has direct access to the garden, making it perfect for hosting a summer garden party. A separate lounge/study/family room at the front of the house offers a peaceful haven. Modern day essentials including utility and cloakroom complete the ground floor. Upstairs both the main and second bedroom feature an en-suite, while the family bathroom serves the remaining two bedrooms.
The Blenheim
Famed as the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill, Blenheim Palace was a gift from Queen Anne following the Battle of Blenheim in 1704. It’s now home to priceless collections of portraits, furniture, sculpture and tapestries.
Our five-bedroom Blenheim is a work of art in itself and lives up to its royal billing. It’s a generously proportioned double fronted property with an attractive arched main entrance, half-timbered eaves and a traditional chimney stack.
Inside, it’s equally impressive, with a formal lounge and dining room to the front and a huge open-plan family area to the rear. Bi-fold doors open onto the garden beyond, while exterior access via the large utility room keeps gardening boots and bikes out of the main living areas. All five of the bedrooms have more than enough space for at least a double bed. Both the main and second bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms, with the main also boasting a walk-through wardrobe/dressing room.
The Highgrove
Highgrove House in Gloucestershire was bought by the Duchy of Cornwall in 1980 and has been the family residence of the now King since then. Charles III remodelled the Georgian house with neo-classical additions in 1987.
Those who choose our Highgrove won’t need to spend time or money remodelling their new home. This magnificent double-fronted property is a design masterpiece. Its tapered walls are reminiscent of a traditional manor house and the epitome of Arts & Crafts inspired architecture. Solid and striking, finished in rough-cast white render, with an arched porchway, the Highgrove combines the charm and craftsmanship of days gone by, with an exceptional standard of modern living.
An elegant, super-spacious executive family home, the Highgrove spans 2,764 sq ft of carefully considered luxurious living space.
Downstairs accommodation includes a superb kitchen/breakfast/family room, lounge, dining room and a study. Upstairs, five double bedrooms lead from an impressive gallery landing, with three enjoying en-suite facilities and the main bedroom boosted further by the added luxury of a dressing room.
King Charles is known for being green fingered and while our Highgrove doesn’t quite have the same sprawling gardens as its royal namesake, there’s more than enough space for budding gardeners to demonstrate their skills.
The Sandringham
The Sandringham Estate has been the much-loved country retreat of the Royal Family since 1862. Located in the heart of Norfolk, Sandringham House, was built by King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra. Today the estate includes an organic farm, sawmill, residential and commercial properties.
With its half-timber gable end, arched entrance and multi-level tiled roof, our Sandringham would be right at home on any country estate. It’s a superb home full of classic character and charm.
The formal dining room, lounge and study to the front are complemented by the sociability of the rear of the property. Stretching across the back is the family room, kitchen and breakfast area, with adjoining utility/boot room. Two sets of bi-fold doors keep this generous space bright and bring the outside in. The Sandringham is therefore the perfect place to host a summer soiree, particularly when the weather is typically British and changes from sunshine to showers.
Upstairs all five bedrooms are doubles. The exceptional main bedroom includes a separate dressing area and en-suite with twin sinks and double shower; while the second bedroom also benefits an en-suite.
