Redrow donates £1,700 to deserving causes

Redrow News Redrow donates 1700 to deserving causes

Redrow has donated more than £1,700 to support four local community organisations in the region.

Our East Midlands division which are currently building new homes at Newton Garden Village, in Newton and Redrow at Nicker Hill, in Keyworth, has presented My Bag Charity, Radcliffe Community Gardens, Autistic Nottingham and Trent Compassion Trust with donations as part of our Community Fund initiative.

The fund, which started in 2020, aims to help local organisations with specific donations and give them the tools they need to continue to thrive, with local causes across the East Midlands invited to apply for their share of a £5,000 pot each year.

In Nottinghamshire, we donated £500 to My Bag Charity, a local organisation which aims to help children across the region in the foster care system.

My Bag provides comfort items, including pyjamas and toys, to children when they enter the care system. Aiming to offer a well-rounded level of support, the charity also runs a ‘My Box’ initiative which provides young people living in semi-independent care a box of personal hygiene and cleaning products four times a year.

Stuart Ferguson, Co-Founder of My Bag Charity, said: “We’re incredibly grateful to Redrow East Midlands for this generous donation. The funds will make a huge difference to our work, helping us continue to provide young people with the home comforts that everyone deserves and needs.”

Radcliffe Community Gardens received a £300 share of the pot to be used towards running costs.

The initiative, which was set up by a group of friends with a passion for gardening, sustainability and wellbeing, supports local people to embrace nature and enjoy the benefits of being outside – with the added bonus of growing tasty vegetables to take home.

Autistic Nottingham received a donation of £400, supporting the group to continue to run regular social events which enable adults with autism to meet like-minded individuals and build friendships within the community.

Trent Compassion Trust received a £500 contribution to further its work supporting people in Nottinghamshire who are experiencing poverty and isolation by donating basic cooking equipment to help provide for their families.

The funds received will go towards boiling rings, baby stair gates and kitchen starter kits, enabling families to maintain independence and dignity within their homes.

Ryan O’Sullivan, sales director for our East Midlands division, said: “We’re committed to creating thriving communities within the local area and are proud to support these charities and organisations in Nottinghamshire with the valuable work they do. All of these groups provide a vital service to our community, and we’re delighted to donate funds to help My Bag Charity, Radcliffe Community Gardens, Autistic Nottingham and Trent Compassion Trust continue their wonderful work!”

We currently have eight developments across the region. In Nottinghamshire, we are building high-quality, new homes at Newton Garden Village, in Newton and at Redrow at Nicker Hill, in Keyworth.
