Just over two years from its launch in April 2019, Sanderling Park, on Andrews Lane, has sold its last home.
Factors such as the Stamp Duty Holiday extension and lockdown prompting families to evaluate whether current homes were still suitable were major factors in the last of the homes selling.
Sian Pitt, sales director for Lancashire said: “Formby is one of Merseyside’s most sought-after locations so it’s no surprise that homes here have sold so fast.
“The plan now is to find more land in the area as it is clear that there is still a great demand for high-quality family homes.”
With its long, sandy beach, dunes and woodland, famous for its red squirrels, Formby seemed to be a top pick for buyers’ post-lockdown.
“Redrow recently conducted a survey to find out what was important to homeowners following lockdown and 40% of North West respondents said that living close to open space was now more important to them. Luckily there is plenty of choice when it comes to walks in the area and Sanderling Park also includes six acres of open space too,” adds Sian.

Aside from building homes, we’ve also made community contributions – both statutory and voluntary – to leave a lasting legacy.
As well as S106 contributions tied to the planning permission, we’ve shared £5,000 between 10 community groups and good causes. The community fund helped include a befriending scheme, a tai chi fitness group and ladies running group.
Our Lancashire division is seeking further land in this area, and stretching as far south as the M56 corridor, including all areas of Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Warrington as well as its Lancashire heartland.
