Lordsgate Township COE Primary School, in Burscough, has purchased an outdoor multi use sports wall, the steel wall includes a basketball net, football goal and an area for target practice.
The school began fundraising for the wall last year, and received a donation from Redrow Lancashire, who are building nearby at The Grange at Yew Tree Park.
“Thanks to the generosity of Redrow Lancashire and with fundraising through our school community we’ve reached our target and have had the equipment installed in the playground,” said Denise Fardella, chair of the Parents, Teachers and Friends Association at Lordsgate School.
“It’s an amazing addition for the children, encouraging them to enjoy spending time outdoors, having fun and learning new skills.
“They’re using it to play sports during break times and practice more disciplined sports techniques in after school clubs.”
Sian Pitt, sales director for Lancashire added: “More than just a home builder, we strive to be a good neighbour to the schools and community groups in the areas where we build.
“It’s great to hear that the sports wall has been so gratefully received by the pupils at Lordsgate School. We hope this new wall is enjoyed by local children for many years to come.”
