We've donated £300 to the Malvern Male Voice Choir as part of our Community Fund initiative linked to our Kensington Gate development.
The fund, which was launched last year, provides local organisations with donations to help them thrive, with local causes encouraged to apply for their share of a £10,000 pot.
The Malvern Male Voice Choir, which was established in 1922, is a not-for-profit amateur choir aiming to bring the beauty of music to Malvern and its surrounding areas. The choir performs at many different events across the region, including at care homes, and is available for other community events.
The funding will be used to support five care home performances in Malvern throughout the year.
Graham Purcocks, from the Malvern Male Voice Choir, said: “We are thrilled to receive this donation from Redrow Midlands which will support us to spread the joy of music to more care homes across Malvern and Worcester. As a not-for-profit organisation, donations like these make a huge difference to what we are able to achieve, which is why they are so important. Singing – whether that is listening or joining in – has wonderful mood-boosting benefits, and can be the highlight of someone’s day, which is why we are so keen to perform as much as possible.”
Elaine Cartwright, sales director for our Midlands division, added: “The Malvern Male Voice Choir plays a key role in the local community, which is why we are delighted to be supporting them as part of our Community Fund. Organisations like these promote community spirit and togetherness – a value we certainly share here at Redrow. We understand that challenging economic circumstances can threaten their ability to continue to operate – which is why we are so keen to offer our support.”
Kensington Gate is located in a peaceful, residential area, just minutes away from the beautiful city of Worcester. Surrounded by open green spaces, with a good selection of schools and superb transport links, this development promises to be popular with homebuyers.
