Vale Juniors FC, U13 Vikings Girls team has received a new away kit thanks to sponsorship from Redrow.
The junior team, which plays in the mid Cheshire youth football league, was delighted to receive the new kit and also meet up with a former Manchester City footballer who has worked her way up the ranks from grassroots level.
Our sales consultant Abby Ritchie, a former Manchester City player at youth level, met up with the team and coaches.
“It's great to see so many teams available for girls to join now. I was very lucky to have a friend who invited me along to a girls’ team to play when I was younger,” said 31-year-old Abby.
“There are so many more opportunities now for girls, whether that's playing on the school team or in a grassroots team, it’s so great to see.
“I rarely get chance to play now, but if I do it's usually playing with my two boys. I would love to volunteer to coach a girl's grassroots team one day if I ever get the opportunity.
“We are very pleased to be the sponsor of this new kit, the whole team looks great. It’s great to hear that the team is doing so well. I wish them all the best for the season ahead.”
Darren Cartwright, coach at Vale Juniors FC, U13 Vikings Girls team, added: “Huge thanks to Redrow for the new kit. The team looks great, and it should make passing easier… they certainly can’t be missed!”
