The first residents at our development in West Cheshire have turned their back on renting to buy a home of their own, saying they wanted to add value to their own property not someone else’s.
Chris and his wife, Chloe, wanted to get onto the property ladder and find a home in or near to the Wirral area that would fit their young family.
A brand-new home at Hawthorn Court, part of Ledsham Garden Village, proved perfect for the couple, who have a seven-year old son and a new-born daughter, while Chris has a 12-year-old daughter from a previous relationship.
IT manager Chris explains: “We’d been renting in Spital but were tired of wasting money on rent and wanted a home of our own. We had to find somewhere in a relatively short space of time because our second child was due and we needed a home that was big enough for all of us.
“We looked around a few new-build developments in the Ledsham area, but Hawthorn Court stood out to us because of how impressive the homes looked from the outside. Also, with young children, we loved the amount of green, open space that we could use for walks.”
The couple say another great thing about the development is the amenities they have close by and how connected it is. Chloe works as a nurse at Arrowe Park Hospital, less than 20 minutes away, and their son can still go to the same school, which was a really important factor. They also wanted to live close enough to Chris’ eldest daughter.
They decided on a four-bedroom Kensington townhouse with a spacious kitchen and dining area on the ground floor and a separate lounge on the first floor. Two of the four bedrooms also come with their own en-suite.
“We couldn’t ask for any more really. The area is quiet, we love the house. We’ve got a balcony from the lounge that overlooks the newly created village green – it’s lovely to sit at night with the doors open.”
Hawthorn Court is part of the wider Ledsham Garden Village development which combines a variety of new homes with open spaces and planned community amenities.
Although house styles the same as the family’s have now all sold, there are still plenty of other options for those seeking the flexibility and ‘more space for the money’ of a home arranged over three floors.
