And to show how those new homes dreams can grow and blossom into reality, We are hosting a special Help to Buy weekend at Ledsham Garden Village on March 14-15.
The event will run at all three of our developments that make up Ledsham Garden Village, and would-be owners will be able to find out all about the government-backed incentive, including how it can save them money and be very straight forward.
With Help to Buy buyers can move into a new-build home with as little as 5% deposit, and they can get a government-backed loan for up to 20% of the cost, which is interest-free for five years.
“It leaves them only needing to find a mortgage of 75%,” says Elaine Mounsey, area sales manager for our North West division.
“This event is the ideal opportunity for customers to have a look around our show homes and learn how buying a brand-new property might be affordable after all thanks to the current Help to Buy scheme. Our knowledgeable sales consultants will be able to answer questions about the incentive and how, specifically, it might help them.”
This is the last full year when Help to Buy will be available in its current form. At the moment, it can be used in England by first-time buyers and those sold subject to contract to purchase a property up to the value of £600,000. Next year, it will be restricted to first-time buyers only and regional price caps will be introduced, so buyers in some more expensive areas could be priced out of the market.
Aircraft fitter Rhys Sharrock and partner Ellie Manford bought their first home ( a three-bedroom Amberley) at Ledsham Garden Village a lot sooner than they planned or had imagined was possible thanks to Help to Buy.
“We didn’t think we’d be able to look seriously until we’d got more money to put down,” says Rhys. “Without Help to Buy, owning our ‘dream’ home wouldn’t have been possible, at least not yet. It meant we could afford more than we thought, and we could put some of the money we’d saved into furnishing it. It made a huge difference and I’d recommend Help to Buy to anyone.”
There is a wide variety of homes available at all three Ledsham Garden Village developments, Oaklands, Hawthorn Court and Sycamore Green, with many ideal for first-time buyers or those wishing to expand.
Current prices extend from £249,995 for a three-bedroom Ludlow semi, up to £349,995 for a Canterbury detached four-bedroom home, with lots in between. Hawthorn Court has some particularly spacious four-bedroom townhouses from only £259,995 and will have some more one and two-bedroom apartments very soon.
“And remember, Help to Buy can reduce this initial outlay by 20%,” Elaine adds.
Ledsham Garden Village is situated at the southern tip of the Wirral peninsula, close to the M53 and A550 Welsh Road, and with plenty of amenities and open green space within easy reach.
Nearby stations at Little Sutton and Hooton offer services to Liverpool and Chester, while the Cheshire Oaks entertainment complex is a short drive away.
