Twenty-six dancers from the Sophie Dee School of Dance, located in Hazel Grove, will be making the journey to Spain to represent Team England this summer. They will be competing in 14 sections including solos, duets, trios and groups.
This is the third year in a row the school’s Elite Festival Team have qualified to represent Team England at the finals taking place from June 24 to July 2, 2022.
Sophie Dee Tighe, principal and director of Sophie Dee School of Dance said her students count on support to enable them to compete all over the world and fulfil some of their dancing dreams.
“For our students to reach the finals in such a prestigious competition is fantastic and so this support from Redrow will go a long way in getting them there,” said Sophie.
“They work so hard all year and are fully deserving of this recognition for all their dedication.”
The school, that has over 600 students, welcomes children aged 12 months to 18 years to dance for fun or work towards pursuing a professional career in dance and musical theatre.
Our sponsorship has been used towards the many entry fees the team have to pay for to compete in the Dance World Cup.
We support communities close to where we’re building and this recent donation was made in connection with Woodford Garden Village, Woodford, where some of the pupils from the dance school live.
Anna Evans-Kerr, sales director for North West said: “It was a no brainer for us when we were approached by the dance school to sponsor them. Dancing builds confidence and allows children to feel part of a community, something that is very important to us at Redrow.”
