We’ve sponsored part of a local art trail designed to show what has inspired the local community during the last 12 months.
The Giant Leap Frog Art Trail that leapt across Stockport town centre back in 2019 has returned – and this time it’s even bigger and spreading across the whole borough.
We jumped in to sponsor one of the giant-sized frogs, which has found a home in Bramhall town centre, less than two miles from our Woodford Garden Village development.
Each of the frogs is unique in its design, after residents helped shape the sculptures by telling organisers about things such as their favourite places locally and positive words to describe the local area to someone who hasn’t visited before.
Our sponsored frog, which can be found in Village Square, Bramhall, has been named ‘Frog with a View’ and has been decorated showing the picturesque views of the Peak District, just one of the local features that attracts customers to our nearby homes.
‘Frog with a View’ was brought to life by local artists from leading arts and mental health charity Arc – Arts for Recovery in the Community – who are based in Stockport Town Centre.
Twenty-one gigantic frogs and froglets are in situ around Stockport town centre, while 17 additional froggy friends have set up camp across the borough in association with One Stockport.
Stockport’s Gigantic Leap Frog Art Trail can be explored until September 26th.
Managing director in the North West Jason Newton said: “Spending a considerable amount of time in or around their home, away from friends and family, due to Covid has brought residents more in touch with the people and places they live close to and that is the basis of this year' trail.
“This idea of local community also fits well with our own ethos of creating thriving communities and providing customers with a better way to live. We are encouraging our residents at Woodford Garden Village to get involved with this trail and to perhaps start with finding ‘our’ frog.”
