Jake Green, from Oldham, was awarded a coveted ‘Seal of Excellence’ from the National House-Building Council (NHBC) at the highly respected Pride in the Job Awards for his work at Redrow’s Tabley Park development.
Established by NHBC, the Pride in the Job Awards celebrate the exceptional contribution site managers make in creating homes of outstanding quality.
Pride in the Job, first launched over 40 years ago, is the most highly regarded competition in the house-building industry.
Earlier in the year Jake won an NHBC Pride in the Job Quality Award, reserved for just the top 450 site managers in the country, chosen from a field of over 11,000. He then went on to compete for the Seal of Excellence and was one of just 94 people to be given the coveted accolade. It’s been a busy year for Jake, who was also named Redrow’s NW site manager of the year.
Jake has worked for Redrow for the past five years, after starting its graduate scheme in 2017. After his managers spotted his potential, the father-of-two was taken off what should have been a two-year training programme and fast tracked to a promotion after just 11 months.
He was given the role of assistant site manager at 23 and his own site to finish off at Mulberry Park in Macclesfield. From there he went to Cranberry Gardens in Congleton before being made site manager at Tabley Park.
“I am delighted to receive this accolade after only starting with Redrow as a trainee five years ago,” said Jake.
“I cannot thank my team and everyone around me enough who have helped develop me into a site manager over the last five years and have also contributed to this Seal of Excellence win.”
Phil Reeves, construction director for Redrow’s Northwest division said: “Congratulations to Jake on his Seal of Excellence Award, which is well deserved. Jake always puts in 100% and is a great asset to us here at Redrow.
“He is setting a real example for his peers with his attention to detail, and the homes at Tabley Park reflect the care and quality of his work, and that of his team on site.”
Steve Wood, NHBC chief executive said: “For more than 40 years Pride in the Job has been an important part of our work to help drive construction quality. Winning site managers tell us that it inspires them to give a little extra and to strive harder for ever-higher standards of house building.
“At NHBC we believe that the calibre of the site manager and the way they inspire their site team has the greatest influence on the quality of the finished home. By promoting friendly rivalry, showcasing best practice and rewarding excellence, Pride in the Job supports the delivery of homes of the highest quality.
“Congratulations to all the 2022 Pride in the Job Seal of Excellence and Regional Award winners. They are an inspiration to us all and should be very proud of the quality of new homes they are creating.”
The national Supreme Award winners will be unveiled in January 2023.
