A new triathlon club, a health and wellbeing charity and a befriending scheme are just three of the charities being supported by Redrow’s latest £5,000 community fund.
Linked to its Kingsbourne development, it brings the total given away to the local community through voluntary donations to £15,000.
This, the second Nantwich community fund has been launched to celebrate two years since the Kingsbourne show homes were opened.
Reflecting the current times, a number of the donations will help organisations operate in the post-Covid world. For example, help has been extended to a local Scout group which needs equipment to facilitate a safe return to regular meetings; while a volunteer group set up during lockdown to support isolating households will be able to develop a brand new website promoting its services.
A brand new triathlon club will be able to get formal accreditation and therefore provide coaching, while a football club will use its money to enhance a conservation area within the club’s grounds. Lastly, a health and wellbeing charity which is adapting its adult education services following Covid 19 will be able to purchase new IT equipment.
Anna Evans-Kerr, head of sales at our North West says: “As part of the ongoing community engagement in areas close to where we build new homes, we have agreed to support five good causes in and around Nantwich. We felt that each group will provide a huge boost to the local community for years to come, but especially this year as we navigate through these very strange times.”
The beneficiaries of the latest fund are:
• Nantwich Triathlon Club
• Cheshire Blades FC
• 38th Cheshire (Nantwich Parish Church) Scout Group
• Nantwich Buddies
• The Wishing Well Project
Liz Parkin, founder of Nantwich Buddies, says: “The Nantwich Buddies are incredibly grateful for the generous support from Redrow. We can now finish our website and purchase some banners to promote ourselves which will help us recruit some more volunteers. As a further lockdown is looking very likely more and more people will need to begin to shield again so the Buddies will continue to be a vital support with shopping, prescription collection and befriending.”
These voluntary donations are in addition to us injecting more than £2.5m into the area surrounding Kingsbourne, including contributions to local primary and secondary education and highways improvements. There is also allocation for a new community hub within the Kingsbourne development, including a commercial unit with shops and services.
Our Kingsbourne development is part of a consortium venture on the edge of Nantwich that will eventually comprise over 1,000 new homes. Ourshare will feature a wide mix of new homes, with three and four-bedroom homes currently available from £257,995. Since launching in 2018, more than 70 families have already made Kingsbourne their home.
