Five team members from Redrow NW swapped their day jobs at their Daresbury headquarters for a day on the tools when they visited Sandymoor Ormiston Academy last week to re-fence the school’s sensory garden.
Together Redrow NW’s managing director Jason Newton, commercial director Neil Howard, chief quantity surveyor Dave Marshall, warranty and inspection manager Rob Maddox and assistant quantity surveyor Jack Williamson, replaced broken fences to ensure the area was safe and secure in time for the new school year.
“Our sensory garden is a quiet area where our students can go if they need some time to themselves and Redrow came to replace the broken fences,” said Sally Jones, head teacher at Sandymoor Ormiston Academy.
“The new fencing helps to keep all the school yard looking tidy and cared for, so the team’s help was greatly appreciated.”
Jason Newton, managing director of Redrow NW, added: “It was great to be able to help out at Sandymoor Ormiston Academy. Volunteering our time means there has been no expense to the school, and they can better use those funds to support students. It was great to escape the office for a few hours and do something for the benefit of our local community.
“Thank you to Landstruction, who donated the materials for us to use on the day. We hope the garden is used and enjoyed by the students for many years to come.”
While its North West headquarters have been based in Daresbury for several years, we recently began building new homes at the neighbouring Daresbury Garden Village, which will eventually include 800 properties across 120 acres of land, with open spaces, green corridors and areas for play.
It is currently underway building 80 new homes on the latest phase, Keckwick Park. The properties on this second phase are from our hugely popular Arts and Crafts inspired Heritage Collection with both three and four-bedroom homes available.
Located off Delph Lane, the development is close to junction 11 of the M56, has great road access to the new Mersey Gateway Bridge and is within easy reach of all the amenities of Stockton Heath, Warrington and Runcorn.
