A Cheshire based youth rugby team has a brand-new kit thanks to funding from our community fund.
Capenhurst Rugby Club received £800 for the kit after applying for our West Cheshire Community Fund.
The club, which is based in the centre of Capenhurst, launched a junior section in 2020, enabling children from school years three to six to access free rugby training.
“All of the coaches and backroom staff involved give their time for free,” said Simon Hellam, head coach of Capenhurst Junior Rugby.
“Rugby gives the children lessons in teamwork, sportsmanship, fitness and responsibility.
“I would like to say a massive thank you to Redrow for this funding. It made a massive difference to our little club.”
Sarah Weaver, marketing manager at Redrow NW said: “Our community funds have helped hundreds of charities, schools and clubs working within our communities.
“We are delighted to hear that the team in Capenhurst is happy with their new kits, and we wish them well for the next season.”
Our West Cheshire Community Fund is linked to two local housing developments including Ledsham Garden Village, a scheme of circa 2,000 homes set amid 100 acres of open space.
The community fund is in addition to the our investment in the wider area, as part of the planning process, which saw us commit to investing £13 million to support the growth of the neighbourhood.
Hawthorn Court is the latest phase in the popular development. See here for more details.
