We have donated a class growing kit to the new school on the development, Woodford Primary School, which will be used to plant fruit and vegetables in the school grounds.
As part of our Get Set Grow initiative, the gardening equipment, seeds and planters have been provided to several schools across the North West to encourage children to grow their own food and establish an interest in the outdoors from an early age.
Head of School Elise Drake said: “We’d like to say thank you to Redrow from the whole school team. The resources in the kit are amazing, and will certainly help with establishing our new forest school. It is very much appreciated.”
Included in the kits are bamboo plant pots, watering cans, cotton gardening gloves fork, trowel and rake sets and a host of rainbow vegetable seeds from peas, carrots and radishes to courgettes, cucumbers and tomatoes.
Anna Evans-Kerr, sales director for Redrow (NW), said: “Get Set Grow is a new initiative and we’ve really enjoyed working with local schools across the North West to deliver the growing kits.
“The children at Woodford Primary School have shown a real enthusiasm for growing their own fresh produce and we hope the equipment can be used year after year. It’s been a real privilege to be able to support the school with their outdoor leaning curriculum as they set up their brand new forest school.”
