Local football club, Sittingbourne Ladies FC, will be scoring more than free kicks when fixtures re-start, as Redrow has donated £1,000 worth of sports kit to the team. Based in Sittingbourne, the team will receive some much-needed tracksuits and jackets to keep them looking professional during training and match days.
The team have started training again once a week, following guidance from the FA. Training sessions are focused on fitness drills in a preparation for the upcoming season. Friendly games are taking place, again with guidance from the FA, to allow players to warm up and gain confidence ready for the upcoming season of which everyone has never been excited more for after such a long break from football.
Sittingbourne Ladies FC started their football journey as Swale Ladies FC, however as they grew to become one of the largest all-female teams in the South East, they saw an opportunity to progress further so, joined forces with Sittingbourne FC, to become Sittingbourne Ladies FC. This provided them with improved playing facilities for the team and a permanent pitch. As the male and female teams share a self-operated funding base, securing enough funds can be difficult. This new sponsorship deal with us will see the team kitted out in brand new tracksuits and the club will have a Redrow sign at the home ground in Sittingbourne.
Leon Shelton-Smith, area sales manager at our South East division, commented: “It is pleasure to be partnering with a team with such a strong work ethic and sense of community, which is what we strive to deliver at Redrow. We wish Sittingbourne Ladies FC the best of luck for their upcoming season – we look forward to seeing you take over the South East!”
Gary Bareham, Chairman at Sittingbourne Ladies FC, commented: “We are incredibly grateful for Redrow’s support, and to be associated with such a prominent name in the South East. It raises the team’s spirits and increases our professionalism when we have new kits to train in. Redrow’s sponsorship has been well and truly appreciated, and we welcome them to come and watch our games anytime.”
