Two South Midlands site managers have received National House Building Council (NHBC) Pride in the Job Quality Awards for their work.
Luke Woodall, from Hertfordshire, and Jason Hart, from Bedford, have each received the award for excellence in on-site management at All Saints Gardens, Barrington and Leestone Park, Leighton Buzzard.
The coveted awards, which have been running for more than 40 years, aim to showcase best practice, inspire site managers and recognise the industry's top performers.
To be considered for an award, site managers must excel in all aspects of construction and site management, including quality of work, technical expertise, health and safety, as well as leadership. Judging criteria also focuses on rewarding the unique qualities and characteristics that distinguish outstanding, award-winning site managers from the competition.
Luke Woodall, who won his first NHBC Award in 2019 and has 18 years’ experience in the building industry, had always wanted to work in construction after being interested in architecture from an early age. Excited by the progression opportunities with us, he joined the company in 2020 as a Site Manager.
Also adding to their success is Jason Hart, who received his first NHBC Award in 2020. From an early age, Jason was fascinated by the fast-paced nature of the construction industry. After becoming a plumber after school, he worked his way into construction management and now has 15 years’ experience in the sector.
Don Burley, Construction Director for South Midlands, said: “Every home developed at All Saints Gardens and Leestone Park, reflects Luke and Jason’s enthusiasm and determination, and we're thrilled that their hard work has been recognised by the NHBC.
“The Pride in the Job Award is a prestigious accolade that all site managers strive for, and for two members of our South Midlands division to receive this is truly fantastic. We are very proud to have both Luke and Jason as part of the team.”
Commenting on his award win, Luke Woodall said: “Receiving this award is a tremendous accomplishment, and one that I am very proud of. Site management requires a lot of hard work and dedication but is an incredibly rewarding career.”
Discussing his award win, Jason Hart said: “I have always loved working in the construction sector – every day is different. I’m privileged to be part of a great team, with some fantastic contractors who really care about every detail.
“When we hand over a home that exceeds the customer's expectations, there's nothing quite like the feeling of a job well done. To me, this isn't simply an individual honour; it's testament to the entire team's hard work. I'd like to express my appreciation to them all for their unwavering support, from the senior managers, site team and designers – it is very much a joint effort.”
We’re is creating thriving new communities across the South Midlands, in Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, and Northamptonshire, including three, four, and five-bedroom homes ideal for families, couples, and downsizers. These new developments provide excellent transport links, allowing residents to enjoy the best of both city and country life.
Leestone Park offers the ideal balance of rural living with great connections to surrounding towns. The centre of Leighton Buzzard is just a mile and a half away from the development, and the handy train station means you can travel to Milton Keynes in less than 15 minutes. Due for completion in 2024, there are also plans for a community centre to be built on the development, as well as an orchard and plenty of open spaces – making the location perfect for families.
Set in the middle of stunning Cambridgeshire countryside in the idyllic village of Barrington, yet just a 40 minutes train journey from nearby Arlesey to King’s Cross, All Saints Gardens is perfectly placed for commuters and growing families alike.
