Our Southern Counties division has provided Hampshire & Isle of Wight Local Resilience Forum (LRF) with a location for a mobile coronavirus testing centre for the general public in Lymington, which is in action from today and on select dates throughout the month.
The drive-in centre is located at Ampress Park, an industrial estate on Bentley Way to the north of the town. Three commercial units were constructed at Ampress Park to complement the delivery of Lymington Shores, our community of apartments and houses just off the marina. As this space is vacant, in a non-residential area and with ample space for cars to drive through, it represented an ideal site for a much-needed, local coronavirus testing centre. Hampshire & Isle of Wight LRF are tasked with identifying such sites across the region.
The Ampress Park centre will be operating the NHS Track & Trace policy whereby an appointment can be booked via the NHS Portal, which requires users to input their post code to determine their nearest test centre, while presenting the available appointments. The portal can be accessed at this link: https://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test
A spokesperson for the Hampshire & Isle of Wight LRF, comments: “We are very grateful to Redrow for accommodating a mobile Covid-19 testing facility for the general public. Its convenient location will help the people of Lymington to get tested quickly and with minimal hassle, all contributing to the fight against Covid-19.”
Ian Sneddon, Managing Director for the Southern Counties division, comments: “We are pleased to be able to support the local effort against Covid-19 in a small way. On behalf of Redrow I’d like to thank the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Local Resilience Forum for everything they are doing to reduce the spread of the virus and protect us in these challenging times, along with all other frontline services.”
