We have confirmed the unconditional exchange on a proposed development of 84 much-needed homes in Ambrosden, Bicester.
Redrow Homes Thames Valley has unconditionally exchanged on a 10-acre site off Merton Road in Ambrosden, just 1.5 miles to the south of Bicester. A selection of one, two, three and four-bedroom homes are included in plans for the land, providing both private and affordable housing.
Construction at the development is anticipated to commence in spring/summer 2021, with interested parties encouraged to register their details now to ensure they are among the first to hear when properties are released for sale next year.
As part of our Thames Valley divisions’ commitment to creating thriving communities, we have committed to more than £1.2million to support the local area. Included in this allocation is circa £490k towards primary education, £113k to support the improvement and expansion of the Ambrosden Village hall, as well as £84k of funding to go towards improving the bus service between Oxford and Bicester.
A total of £170k has also been allocated towards off-site sports and £70k to support Bicester Leisure Centre.
On top of this, circa £175k has been allocated towards establishing and maintaining biodiversity at the development. This forms part of our ‘Nature for People’ biodiversity strategy, which has been established as part of a long-standing partnership with charity The Wildlife Trusts.
The development will also be designed to celebrate existing natural features, with an aim to exceed government requirements for a 10 per cent biodiversity net gain.
Charles Rafferty, land director for our Thames Valley division, said: “We are thrilled to have unconditionally exchanged on the land north of Merton Road, in the desirable village of Ambrosden, where we plan to build much-needed homes and further cement our reputation for creating thriving communities across the Oxfordshire region.
“In our commitment to creating thriving communities, we’re delighted to confirm a contribution of circa £1.2million that will be injected into the local area.”
Located just eight miles from Oxford and with key travel routes within easy reach, the new development will offer rural surroundings combined with desirable travel links and will be ideally placed for first-time buyers, growing families and commuters alike. Bicester is just a stone’s throw away, and both the A41 and M40 are less than a two-mile drive. There are also regular trains from Bicester to London Marylebone in around an hour, ideal for commuters looking for a slice of country life and more house for their money.
