Our Thames Valley division, which is currently building at The Steeples on Stevenson Crescent, has joined forces with Barton Park Primary School to support the launch of its new walking bus – which helps children get to school on foot safely, chaperoned by adults.
We will create several pavement bus stops in the area for local children to wait at before hopping onboard. To ensure all passengers travelling are clearly visible on their journey, especially during the darker winter months, the housebuilder has also donated £130 towards hi-vis jackets.
Michelle Francis, Parent Governor at Barton Park Primary, who came up with the walking bus initiative for the school, said: “We are incredibly grateful to Redrow Thames Valley for supporting the launch of our walking bus and ensuring we travel safely – and in style – with our high-vis jackets.
“This donation, and the creation of new walking bus stops around Barton Park, will ensure a safer journey to and from school for many children in the area.”
