We’re celebrating success twice over after sales have soared at two of our developments in Wakefield.
City Fields, just off the Wakefield Eastern Relief Road, and St John’s Mews, off Westfield Road, have both seen a big increase in demand in recent months, leaving only seven properties now remaining at City Fields and 14 at St John’s Mews.
As canny buyers catch on to the added benefits of each of these prime locations, Yorkshire sales director Steve Jackson says now is the time to visit – before it’s too late.
“There are so many advantages to these stylish homes, sitting close to Wakefield centre and also offering good access to Leeds, but within lovely communities and locations with plenty to offer,” Steve says.
“The pandemic has taught us all of the importance of where we live, and balancing home life with that of work to support our health and wellbeing. And, with many people now working more flexibly and spending fewer hours in the office, that will only increase.”
He adds: “The interest in our Wakefield homes reflects all of that and more, and it means that those who might want to secure a home there and see what’s exciting everyone else, should do so while they can.”
Access to a wide range of amenities and more space in the home, are just some of the reasons which are catching the eyes of discerning buyers. Add to these the favourable price comparison between Wakefield and neighbouring city Leeds and the appeal becomes ever more apparent.
Wakefield is one of the most up-and-coming areas of Yorkshire with much in its favour, says estate agent Richard Parker at Bridgfords Wakefield. As well as being close to Leeds but far more affordable, there are many other plusses sending people in its direction.
“There’s been a lot of investment in Wakefield with the new Snowhill Retail Park adding to Trinity Shopping Centre, and the city also has a buoyant nightlife with lots of bars, clubs and restaurants,” he says.
“St John’s Mews is in one of the most prestigious area of the city, with some of the best schools around. It’s in walking distance of the city centre and the brand-new station from which you can go to Leeds and Huddersfield, and it’s got great motorway connections – you could probably drive to Leeds quicker from Wakefield than you could from other Leeds area like Horsforth.
“City Fields has many of the same advantages while being a little more rural, closer to the canal with lovely walks, yet near to Pindersfield Hospital, which makes it ideal for hospital staff and especially first-time buyers.”
Remaining three and four-bedroom homes at St John’s Mews, currently from £247,950, include townhouses offering spacious accommodation over three floors. There’s plenty of potential for buyers to transform an unused bedroom into a home office, playroom or gym if they wish.
Although only seven homes remain, City Fields has three and four-bedroom detached homes with prices from £377,950. Properties boast open-plan living areas, generously-sized bedrooms and at least one en-suite. In fact, the three-bedroom Oxford Lifestyle has an en-suite for every bedroom.
With a recent survey revealing Yorkshire buyers wanted a private drive and a garage, to live near open spaces and have enough space in their home to exercise or create a home gym, there is something to satisfy everyone at each of the developments.
