After a career move up north from Norwich originally led Beth and Lewis to search for homes in North Yorkshire, it was our Stoney Bank Chase development in Thongsbridge near Holmfirth that captured their hearts thanks to the community feel and closeness to the outdoors.
“One day we were driving through Holmfirth and we both fell in love with it. We loved the high street that’s made up of lots of independent shops, and how close it is to the Pennine hills. As keen cyclists we like nothing more than getting on our bikes and exploring the countryside,” says 25-year-old nurse Beth.
After uprooting their lives over 200 miles, starting new jobs and living in a new area, the couple wanted a home that was ready for them to move into. They rented a house in nearby Kirkburton while the search for a new home was on.
Beth continues: “We weren’t actually looking for a new build home but when we looked at the show homes at Stoney Bank Chase, we were so surprised with how much space Redrow homes had inside.”
The couple decided on the four-bedroom detached Oxford.
“The Oxford is a really practical house and will still give us plenty of room for when we have a family. The four-bedrooms are all really good sizes and the garden overlooks some great views. We see lots of wildlife and even let deer in the back garden sometimes!”
While it enjoys a delightful semi-rural location, Stoney Bank Chase also offers easy road and rail access to larger towns and cities, including Huddersfield (six miles), Barnsley (13 miles), plus Sheffield, Leeds and Manchester.
There are just seven homes left at Stoney Bank Chase and current availability includes a range of three and four-bedroom natural stone homes from £329,950 up to £439,950 including some townhouse designs.
