Purchaser Diane Jeffreys says the on-screen tours of her new home and wider development, available inside Redrow’s new customer experience suite at Poppy Fields in Bramley, “brought it all to life” and helped confirm her house purchase was the right one for her family.
Located off Moor Lane South, Poppy Fields will offer a range of three, four and five-bedroom homes. This is Redrow’s first development in Bramley, having built in neighbouring Wickersley and with current developments in Leeds, Harrogate and Huddersfield.
“We had been thinking of moving to a bigger house for a while,” said Diane, who lives with her partner Darren and her 10-year-old daughter Megan.
“We live in Ravenfield and I love it here. My daughter goes to school here, so we didn’t want to leave the immediate area. I was very excited when I saw a new development was coming here and started to do my research.”
Diane soon came across My Redrow a personal members’ area of Redrow.co.uk used by customers at every stage of the home buying process.
My Redrow guides customers through the whole journey from searching for and reserving a property, to confirming choices and purchasing optional extras through to moving in.
“My Redrow helped me a lot. We could view every detail of each property, as well as what extras we could include,” said Diane.
“But it was last October that was a real turning point for us when Redrow sales consultant Dawn Ward introduced us to the customer experience suite at Poppy Fields.”
The hi-tech customer experience suite gives customers the chance to view plans and images and take virtual tours of the homes set to be released for sale, all on digital screens.
The new digital-first approach also allows the customer’s home buying journey to become completely paperless.
“As there aren’t any show homes on the development it was hard to envisage what the house would look like,” said Diane.
“This new technology enabled us to have a 360-degree view of the whole development, including the roads in and out of the development, our cul-de-sac, and we could even see where our house would be located, what it backed on to, what houses would be around us. It really was incredible.
“Seeing my house on the screen, and how the development will look once completed, brought it all to life. Our house buying journey suddenly felt very real.”
The properties at Poppy Fields, all from Redrow’s Heritage Collection, will include 240 homes for private sale and 80 affordable properties, offering a wide range of options to meet the needs of the community.
The 36-acre development will also include a large area of open space, featuring a play area and a community orchard.
“I looked at every Redrow house style, studying the floor plans trying to decide which property was most suited for us,” said Diane.
“We soon set our sights on the Highgate and I love everything about it. It has five bedrooms, which means we can turn one of those into a media room for Megan. We love the snug area too.”
The Highgate is designed over three floors, giving families more space and allowing privacy when needed.
The ground floor has an open plan kitchen / diner and family room along with a separate utility, cloakroom and lounge. The second floor is home to three double bedrooms, with an en-suite and dressing room to the main bedroom, plus a family bathroom.
The third floor boasts two further bedrooms and a further shower room.
“This is our dream house. We love the extra room this property will give us and Megan is very excited to have her own space on the top floor,” said Diane.
“Our house won’t be ready until 2024 but we’ve built a wonderful relationship with the team at Redrow already. We speak to Dawn on a regular basis, and she keeps us up to date about what is going on with the development. Dawn reassures me, I’ve got huge confidence in her.”
Steve Jackson, sales director at Redrow Yorkshire, said: “Diane is proof of how our customer experience suites make a huge difference to the customer’s home buying journey. With detailed plans of not only the properties but the development.
“Here at Poppy Fields, we have listened to our customers who have requested family friendly layouts, gardens and access to green open space on the development – and this development will offer all of those things and more.
“And in the current climate with energy price hikes, it’s worth reminding potential home buyers that new homes are generally much better insulated than older, second-hand properties. They also have other energy efficient measure built into their fabric plus eco-friendly appliances included, making them cheaper to run. In fact, they could save homeowners an average of £2,600* annually on their energy bills, compared to an older home.
“Redrow also has a great piece of technology that shows the savings made between your existing home and a new Redrow Home – in the age of energy efficiency and looking after the costs it certainly show why new homes provide a good purchase.”
