It was during the Covid lockdown that Adele and Michael, like many, realised they had outgrown their home.
“We had done all we could to our previous home, we even had an extension, but with three teenage daughters, we didn’t have enough space to live and we knew it was time to move,” said Adele, 39.
The couple started looking for a new home near where they lived in Lofthouse, Leeds, but struggled to find a property that ticked all the boxes.
Adele and Michael, 39, soon widened their search and started looking specifically at our new-builds, which is when they discovered The Marlow at City Fields, Wakefield.
A detached home with four double bedrooms, the Marlow is perfect for families who need that extra bit of space. “It meant us moving out of the area we knew, but we fell in love with the house, so it was a move we were willing to make.”
But it wasn’t plain sailing for the couple and, after buyers for their previous home pulled out, they couldn’t proceed with their first-choice home.
“It was devastating. However, eventually we sold our house again and, not willing to lose our dream home again, we reserved another plot with Redrow and moved into rented accommodation until our new home was ready,” said Adele.
“We were so determined not to miss out again that Michael and I slept on a sofa for months, it was an interesting time!”
The couple, along with Abbigail, 15 and 17-year-old twins Lia and Chloe are now settled in their new home.
“I’ve started to decorate; all four bedrooms are now finished,” said Adele.
“But my favourite room has to be the living room, Michael and I spend a lot of our time in there, it’s so much bigger than our last one. I love the high ceilings and extra-large window; it lets so much light into the room.”
Despite their journey not going as smoothly as they’d hoped, the couple have praised the team at City Fields for going ‘above and beyond’ their duties.
“This is our first Redrow home and I can honestly say the team here have been absolutely fantastic, I would highly recommend them.”
