Ever fancied spending the day with your friends or colleagues at world-renowned Royal Ascot? – Well now is your chance!
Martin House Children’s Hospice, in Wetherby, is auctioning off a once-in-a-lifetime race day experience, in association with our Yorkshire division and civil engineers CRS.
We and CRS have donated a hospitality package for 10 people including a three-course lunch and complimentary bar, which will be awarded by Martin House to the highest bidder.
The winner will enjoy entry for 10 guests into the Royal Ascot Pavilion with sweeping views across the Plaza towards the Parade Ring and a large private balcony from which to absorb the sights and sounds of Royal Ascot. The hospitality package also includes access to the Queen Anne Enclosure, a reserved table for the day, Prosecco Jeio reception, full afternoon tea, and entertainment from a celebrity guest speaker.
The money raised from the auction will help pay for some of the care and support that Martin House delivers to babies, children and young people with life-limiting illnesses – and support for their families – across the Yorkshire region.
Every year Martin House cares for more than 420 children and their families, as well as around 150 bereaved families, at its hospice, in hospitals and in the community. It is open 24/7, 365 days a year, whenever families need help and support. Yearly running costs total almost £9 million and support from businesses like us and CRS is vital.
Lizzie Philpott, partnerships manager at Martin House, said: “We are so thankful to have been given the opportunity to auction this wonderful prize. The funds raised will enable us to be here when families need us most – providing family-led hospice care free of charge for children and young people with life-limiting conditions. A big thank you to both CRS and Redrow for their support.”
Martin House is the adopted charity for our Yorkshire division, which also donates £100 for every house it sells to the charity.
Yorkshire’s managing director John Handley said: “We’ve partnered with Martin House for many years, and we are always on the lookout for ways to help. Along with our partners at CRS, we have secured a hospitality package for 10 people at Royal Ascot, worth £4,500, and we are delighted to donate this to the hospice to help them raise much needed funds.
“We would encourage anyone who would like to experience the thrill of a race day at one of the world’s most prestigious racecourses to dig deep in their pockets and bid generously for a great cause.”
Paul Senior, alongside fellow director at CRS Simon Eyre, said: “We thought of no better a cause than to team up with Redrow to offer the table for auction for Martin House. Having worked alongside John and his team for many years, we have seen first-hand the efforts put in to raising money for a Martin House, so felt happy that we could do our bit to push the numbers up this year.”
