“After being in the skies for almost twenty years I had learnt a great deal about customer care and how vital good communication,” says Lyndsay. “Plus I also gained experience with having sales targets. When I started at Redrow in 2020, even though I had to learn about the practical side of selling homes, my customer care and ability to problem solve and work as part of a team helped me settle in really quickly,”
Celebrated every year, the awards took place virtually this year and recognise those who have excelled in their customer facing roles in each of our 14 divisions.
Despite only being with us for just over a year, Lyndsay has had continued success having sold homes at The Hawthorns and The Point at Thorpe Park, both in Leeds, before moving to her current development, City Fields in Wakefield.
“Finding out I’d won the award for sales consultant of the year was so overwhelming”, she added. “I can’t take credit for it by myself as it’s also down to the support and teamwork from my managers, colleagues, the customer care team and the construction teams who make it possible for us to deliver a great experience for our customers.
“I’m so grateful that I’ve been able to move into a new industry in another customer facing role and to Redrow for recognising the skills I had from working as cabin crew were transferable. They gave me the opportunity to start a new career following a challenging few months.”
Being new to the industry, plus the challenges presented by Covid, have meant Lyndsay’s time with us has so far been full of challenges. However, she has followed her principles of taking each day as it comes and staying positive.
“The best thing about my role is the diversity, no two days are the same. There's always a fresh challenge to keep me occupied and I work with a great group of people. I get great job satisfaction handing over the keys to customers. The most rewarding part of the role is helping customers personalise the interior of their new homes, suggesting ideas, colour schemes and helping them really make the house their own.”
Lyndsay also says she enjoys selling a quality product and she is proud to work for a business that has a strong environmental and sustainable conscience.
Being named one of our top sales consultants is based on a number of factors, including sales performance against targets, customer feedback and positive achievement of online reservations and Help to Sell transactions, where customers use our services to sell their existing property.
Steve Jackson, sales director for the Yorkshire division says: “Since Lyndsay started with us, she has been a force to be reckoned with. She has hit the ground running and is continuing to excel in what she does with her feet firmly on the ground instead of at 33,000 feet in the air.
“Lyndsay successfully sold all homes at The Hawthorns well in advance of the initial targets and well ahead of their targeted completion which is fantastic. She is a credit to the company.”
