With over a third of its in-house training courses based on skills development, Redrow Homes utilises its own occupational experts to pass on their know-how to other employees, complementing its team of employed training professionals.
It’s “train the trainer” course gives coaching to those who are experts in their field in how to deliver training sessions effectively to others.
Richard Beadsmoore, Redrow’s group training and development manager, said: “Enabling our experts to pass on their valuable knowledge to our new and developing staff helps to protect our company’s future.
“We recognise that we have the opportunity to influence our people through our in-house training and development programmes. The use of occupational experts to assist in this training enables us to design and deliver effective, tailored solutions which can be difficult to achieve through “off the shelf” courses.
“The train the trainer course was a great opportunity for our occupational experts to expand on or learn new skills for their own personal development. It was also a great opportunity for us to give something back and to say thank you to them for their valuable and much appreciated contribution so far. We’ve received excellent feedback from those who attended the course and will be looking to host similar courses in the future.”
Redrow Homes’ training division, training @ redrow, hosted 191 training events and delivered over 2,300 training days to its employees last year.
