Award-winning builder Redrow is at the forefront of a technical revolution which will change the future of house-buying.
One of Wales' largest and most established companies has teamed up with one of its newest to create a dynamic virtual tool for property purchasers, and will launch it at one of its key North West developments.
Buyers are already familiar with 360-degree images which allow you to rotate the view of a room, but Redrow has linked with Bangor-based visual technology experts, Futurium, to create interactive 3D visual solutions so people will be able to walk through the houses and explore the development as though they are actually there.
“It will help customers to choose the plot and location, the house type and the interior design choices so they can visualise and make decisions with confidence and ease,” said Hayley Carpenter, one of the directors of Parc Menai-based Futurium, which has gone from strength to strength since it was founded just over two years ago. “They will be able to make decisions smarter, faster, and easier and Redrow is the first with this technology.
“There really will be nothing like it – other than the real thing.”
The 3D visuals experience will be introduced by Redrow for customers at its Woodford Garden Village development, a stunning new property collection at which up to 950 homes are due to be built near Stockport, Greater Manchester.
Caroline Thompson-Jones, area sales manager for Redrow (NW), said: “I am absolutely blown away by what Futurium can do and the benefits it offers for our buyers.
“Homeowners will be able to visualise exactly what their house will look like, how the chosen features will look, how it will all come together. It will ensure they make all the right choices so the house they are buying, the location they are choosing, will be perfect for them. The house of their dreams will be the house they will have.”
Hayley explained: “We have developed a visualisation system and technology that enhances the customer journey and makes it easier to visualise what a home is going to look like.
“You can walk through it, touch it and make selections just as you would in the real world. If you are looking at a static image of a room, you have just the one view; in 360 degree images you are stuck in the same spot. In the real world you can walk into the room, touch it and look at it from different angles, and you can do the same with this technology.
“You can see what your kitchen will look like, choose the flooring, the wall tiles and the units, the different colours, finishes and surfaces and see how they look together. If it doesn't look quite right, you can change it until you are happy.
“You can walk down the road outside 'your' house and discover the views around each corner, you can look right and left. It simply brings everything to life in perfect detail. And all this innovative technology will be available on mobile devices or the multi touch interactive tables that Redrow will use in its marketing suite.”
Woodford Garden Village is set to be one of the biggest developments for the North West over the next 10 years, delivering more than 900 homes, as well as a host of brand new facilities and amenities in Woodford, just five miles from Stockport and within easy reach of central Manchester.
Based on the historic site of the former aerodrome, phase one of this landmark development will include 145 high-quality two, three, four and five-bedroom homes and is due to launch this summer.
Sensitive to its idyllic rural location, the garden village will also feature significant amounts of open spaces including traditional village greens to create a superb living environment.
