Paul, now 35, even lives in a Redrow home in Altrincham, Manchester, such is his belief in the homes he is helping to build.
His recent promotion, which took him from manager to director, means he now heads up Redrow’s technical department in the North West and North Wales division at their offices in Ewloe, Flintshire.
The married dad-of-two said: “I’ve come a long way since joining Redrow as a graduate trainee 13 years ago and I’m looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead. I believe we have a product and the site locations that are the envy of many of our competitors. I’m excited to be a part of Redrow’s ongoing success.”
Before joining Redrow, Paul completed a BEng hons degree in Engineering with German at the University of Nottingham. He was successfully accepted onto Redrow’s graduate scheme as a “graduate trainee”. After completing the two year programme, including various training courses and hands-on experience, he was given the role of design engineer. In 2006 he became engineering manager and in 2010 was promoted to the role of technical manager.
He said: “I’m looking forward to further building the team and I’m in a fortunate position to be able to pass on my experience at all levels because I’ve been through the ranks with Redrow myself.”
Paul continues to be a staunch advocate of Redrow’s current graduate training scheme, which recruits promising young talent for each of Redrow’s divisional companies every year. He is actively involved in the recruitment process and is able to use his own experience to help the new employees.
“Unfortunately for young people today, the gradate job market has never been tougher. I continue to be overwhelmed by the high calibre of applicants we receive every year and the fierce competition for positions. However, on a positive note, I would say to anyone fortunate enough to achieve a place on our graduate scheme that there are plenty of opportunities for them to grow with the business, provided that they work hard and show the required dedication.”
Redrow also offer apprenticeships and undergraduate work placements. To find out more about working for Redrow visit: www.redrowplc.co.uk/Careers-And-Recruitment/Apprentices.
