House Builder builds hope and happiness for charity

A children’s hospice has received much needed funds after housebuilder Redrow made a generous donation of £45,000, mostly raised by employees.

Hope House was chosen by Redrow’s Flintshire-based NW division to be the beneficiary of year-long fund raising to celebrate the company’s 40th anniversary. Similar campaigns were run by Redrow divisions across England and Wales as part of a special ‘charity challenge’.

As a result, Hope House has received a whopping cheque for £45,000 after events which included some of the team from Redrow’s Ewloe office taking on the Three Peaks Challenge, hitting the fairways for a golf day, hosting a charity dinner and holding various raffles and baking days.

Hope House Children's Hospices - at Oswestry and Tŷ Gobaith at Conwy - provide care and support to children, young people and their families from Shropshire, Cheshire, North and mid Wales.

Alison Marsh, area fundraiser at Hope House, said: “The contribution of the whole team at Redrow Homes has been inspirational. They have met and exceeded a challenging target and delivered one of our largest corporate contributions this year.

"The money raised could fund a whole year of happiness and giggles in our playroom.

“But, most importantly, this enables the Hope House team to care for and support more than 600 local children and young people with life-limiting illnesses, and their families, each year. We could not do any of this without help from our corporate sponsors, and we are eternally appreciative of Redrow’s support.”

John Daglish, Redrow Homes (NW) commercial director, added: “Last year was an amazing anniversary year for Redrow, celebrating 40 years of building a successful business. The charity challenge was a great way to harness the support of staff and to share our celebrations with the wider community. I’m thrilled that the team has managed to raise so much for such a worthy local cause.”

Redrow’s NW business is based at the group headquarters at St David’s Park, in Ewloe, Flintshire and has successful ventures at different stages of development across North Wales and the North West including homes in Buckley, Hawarden, Bangor, Liverpool, Chester, Farndon, Crewe and Widnes.
