The charity had asked people across the country to host events as a way of raising funds for local Macmillan teams, including those here in the North West, to ensure that no one will have to fight cancer alone.
Last year more than five million people around the UK hosted or attended a coffee morning, raising a record breaking £15m.
Redrow pledged to donate £10 for every visitor who came along and enjoyed a coffee at its two Widnes developments; Barrows Green, off Barrows Green Lane, and Lancaster Place, off Lunt’s Heath Road on the day.
The company hosted a number of similar events around the country and in total has raised more than £1,000 for Macmillan.
Anita Williams, sales director for Redrow Homes (NW), praised both events’ success: “It was great to see people come along to show their support. Widnes is such a friendly town and we are proud to be part of this community. We’re delighted to be making a donation to a charity close to everyone’s hearts.
