National award success for top Lancashire development

CELEBRATIONS are underway at Redrow’s Clayton-Le-Woods development after it was honoured at the country’s biggest and most prestigious property awards.

The Hedgerows, near Leyland, was a winner in the Best Residential Development Lancashire category in the UK Property Awards, held recently at a glittering ceremony in London.

And it marks even further success for the development which boasts one of the housebuilder’s top teams.

Site manager Simon Nix has already won awards for The Hedgerows including an NHBC ‘Pride in the Job’ Seal of Excellence for his role there – putting him in the top 1% of his profession – and sales consultant Carol Sokol is one of Redrow’s senior sales staff with more than 20 years’ experience under her belt and hundreds of homes sold.

Carol said: “I already knew it to be a very special development but to have experts in the industry agree is evidence of that and, while we were already proud of The Hedgerows, we are especially so now.”

And she added: “I have only been on site since June having previously been at Buckshaw Village and then Fleetwood, but I am really pleased with how things are going – I have sold 21 homes already to date and I think that’s partly because I have so much faith and confidence in it.

“There is a lovely variety of house types and so much greenery; the entrance to The Hedgerows is wide and it feels so welcoming. I just love it.

“While I have been here for only a few months I have worked with Simon before and we get on really well so it’s a great partnership.”

Simon agreed. A site manager for 16 years and at Redrow for seven, he said: “I strive to keep my site looking its best – every day I ask if I would like to buy a house from here – and the answer always has to be ‘yes’. I want people to drive onto my site and think ‘I want to live here’, and that if it is so clean and tidy on the outside, imagine what the homes are like inside!

“But I can’t do it in my own, it’s about team work; that’s me and Carol and every single person who works at The Hedgerows.”

Simon, who is ably assisted by a team on site, including trainee site assistant Jason Booth, added: “We are all very proud of the development and the award is confirmation that we are right to be so. There aren’t many jobs for which you can win an award, so it is an honour to have received such a prestigious award on behalf of Redrow. We strive to be the best at all times.”

Surrounded by open countryside, yet within easy reach of towns like Leyland and Preston, The Hedgerows offers excellent commuter connections, with the M6 close by and easy access to the West Coast Mainline rail services.

There is a range of three and four-bedroom semi-detached and detached properties, currently from £254,995 for a four-bedroom detached Stratford. All properties are taken from Redrow’s Heritage Collection which complements traditional Arts & Crafts-inspired exteriors with modern and spacious interiors.

The Stratford is a lovely family home, boasting an en-suite to master bedroom and spacious open plan kitchen/dining room overlooking the garden through patio doors.

A range of incentives like the government-backed Help To Buy scheme, which enables people to buy with only a 5% deposit and a 75% mortgage thanks to a 20% equity loans that’s interest-free for the first five years, help make purchasing a brand new home there more affordable than ever.
