X-FACTOR finalist Paul Akister has performed for special guests at the official opening of a contemporary new show home in his home town of Lancaster.
The singer, who took part in the show in 2013 and 2014 and got through to the live finals last year, sang and greeted the visitors as they explored the fully-furnished and expertly designed home.
Abode has brought a new style to the homes being built on the banks of the River Lune with a range of two, three and four-bedroom homes currently on sale.
Now, would-be buyers will be able to experience the lifestyle on offer first-hand with the detached show home, called the 1150, providing a flavour of what contemporary Lancaster living could be like.
Paul, who’s currently working hard in the studio and hoping to release his first single in the next couple of months, was particularly impressed with the new homes, commenting: “These houses are great and in a lovely part of Lancaster, I could definitely see myself living here.”
The homes, which present an ‘uncluttered’ but smart façade, feature wide open living spaces – virtually all of the ground floor is open plan – and in-vogue features such as wet rooms and underfloor heating. In several housetypes there is no family bathroom, instead every bedroom has its own wet room or en-suite. Banks of discreet storage units create faux walls and optional extras include outdoor kitchens and low maintenance artificial turf.
Claire Jarvis, Redrow sales director (Lancashire), said: “The new Abode range perfectly complements the existing Heritage Collection homes at Riverside View and means buyers have a wider choice of homes to choose from on the banks of the River Lune.
“It was fantastic to have Paul at the event, he’s incredibly popular and is born and bred Lancaster so he was the perfect choice. The Abode homes are ideal for young professionals like Paul but also cater for active downsizers who live a very sociable lifestyle.”
Current prices start from £239,995.
Abode is only five minutes’ drive from the centre of historic Lancaster and the train station a mile away offers regular trains to Manchester, Preston and beyond. With a choice of primary schools and secondary schools close by the area is also an excellent choice for families.
The new Abode show home and marketing suite on New Quay Road, are open daily from 10am until 5.30pm, as is the existing Heritage Collection show complex.
