The 200 children from years three to six at Hawarden Village Church School, also had the opportunity to meet the housebuilder’s health and safety mascots, Buster Bear and his keen apprentice Buddy.
The bears were joined by Redrow’s group health and safety manager Charlotte Weston, site manager Mark Donlon, as well as sales advisor Kelly Chandler, both based at Redrow’s nearby Gladstone Leigh development.
Charlotte said: “We all had a fantastic afternoon with the children who were very enthusiastic about learning all about health and safety. The children really engaged and loved meeting Buster and Buddy.
“Redrow is committed to the communities in which we build and because the school is so close to Gladstone Leigh it was great to be given the opportunity to talk to the pupils and raise awareness of safety on construction sites.”
Head teacher Lynn Bartlett said: “The children really enjoyed themselves and had fun trying on items such as high visibility jackets and hard hats. It was a real treat for them to welcome Buster and Buddy along with some of the Redrow team.”
The homes at Gladstone Leigh all come from Redrow’s award-winning Heritage Collection and marry a traditional Arts and Crafts architectural design with contemporary, 21st Century interiors. All the houses under £300,000 are available through the Help to Buy Wales scheme.
