Phenomenal success for new Altrincham homes

With seven sales, several ‘early bird’ reservations and a number of people all vying for the same properties, the hugely successful launch of a new West Timperley development points to growing consumer confidence in the housing market.

The Birches is the latest phase of Redrow’s Stamford Brook venture and will eventually feature 66 executive family homes, being built on land that once formed part of Trafford College.

Hundreds of people registered their interest prior to the launch and dozens visited the new marketing suite in opening week. This instant success with homebuyers reinforces industry experts’ claims that the housing market is on the up.

Anita Williams, sales director for Redrow Homes (NW), says: “We’ve had a phenomenal response to the launch of The Birches, with people even waiting outside for the marketing suite to open on launch day and the phone ringing off the hook. In the first few days we secured seven firm sales with a number of people making ‘early bird’ reservations, giving them first refusal when their preferred property is released for sale. We even have a list of people who all want to buy the same home.

“The high demand here certainly reflects the optimism that the banks, analysts and industry bodies are showing in the housing market and its recovery thanks to improved mortgage affordability, low interest rates and Help to Buy.”

The Birches offers a choice of three, four and five-bedroom homes from Redrow’s sought after  New Heritage Collection.

Prospective purchasers include families looking to move up the property ladder, cash buyers, investors and those who want to use Help to Buy to make buying a new home more affordable.

Potential purchaser Stephen Rands, a sports performance analyst, visited the marketing suite for the launch event with his wife Nicola. The couple are relocating from East Yorkshire to the Manchester area.

“Redrow is seen as a high-end builder,” Stephen says.  “I have friends who live in Redrow homes and I was impressed by the quality.

“It can be difficult to get the house you want in the right area, especially with children when you have to think about schools. Help to Buy would be a great way for us to do that as the equity loan would reduce our mortgage repayments.”

Located off Manchester Road, The Birches will benefit from a wealth of amenities as part of the Stamford Brook development, while also enjoying a semi-rural feel, with acres of open space, woodland walkways and a meandering brook forming part of the site.
