Redrow cements success of former brickworks site as only 10 homes remain

An industry has ended but a new community has been born - Redrow is celebrating the success of one of its most popular developments as only 10 homes remain for sale at Heathlands in Flintshire.

Building has almost finished in Buckley on the site of its last brickworks, Lane End, but the celebrations are already starting after the stunning transformation of the 65-acre plot.

More than 200 homes have been built on the Church Road development, which has seen a community created and an area rejuvenated.

Only a third of the site has been built on with the rest being kept as open space and the Knowle Hill nature reserve, which is open to residents and the public. But that third has seen the building of two, three and four-bedroom homes for young and older couples and families, from North Wales and beyond.

Jason Newton, sales director for Redrow Homes (NW), said: “After five years of working on this site it is very much the end of an era, but it is fantastic to see the transformation and the changes we have made.

“A site which provided people of this area with jobs for so many years, supporting the community around it, has now become a community itself and it is rewarding to have been a part of that and help make it happen.

“Heathlands is a large development for us but, more than that, it is now a wonderful place in which people can live and raise their families. It has breathed new life into an industrial area which, unfortunately, had come to the end of its lifespan.”

He added: “There are now only 10 homes remaining for those who want to become a part of that community and, with Early Bird reservations on some of those, we would encourage anyone who is interested to move quickly for fear of being disappointed.”

With Redrow’s neighbouring Abode contemporary development all sold out, the remaining 10 homes at Heathlands are all from the Heritage Collection, which combines traditional exteriors and high quality craftsmanship, with stunning modern interior design.

House types include the Amberley, a three-bedroom property. A central front door leads inside to a large open plan kitchen/dining room to the left of the hall and a full width family lounge to the right. A separate laundry room is a welcome addition to the downstairs accommodation while, upstairs, a central landing goes to three generous double bedrooms, the master with built-in wardrobes and an en-suite shower room, and a beautiful family bathroom.

Similarly, the Broadway also has three-bedrooms and offers the light and airy feel and high ceilings that the Heritage Collection is renowned for. Elegant and expertly planned it offers everything needed for modern living without ever feeling cramped.

High demand is expected for the final 10 homes and anyone interest is urged to register as soon as possible.

All homes under £300,000 qualify for Help to Buy Wales, which means they can be purchased with a 5% deposit. The remaining costs are covered with up to a 20% equity loan from the Welsh Government, interest free for five years, and a 75% mortgage from a lender of choice.
