First Family Home

First Family Home for Andy, Sandra and Baby Grace

Concept manager Andy Peloe is revelling in his new role as a dad – and he's even happier now he has moved into his first family home.

Andy, 43, has just moved into a four-bedroom Argyle property at Devonshire Gardens in Harrogate, with partner Sandra Cirera Garcia and their baby daughter, Grace, who’s almost one.

“It’s a real family home,” says Andy. “It's got lots of space and the open plan downstairs is perfect for life with a new baby.

“We have got extra bedrooms if family and friends come to stay and, if our family grows, the house will still be a perfect fit!”

Andy and Sandra, a translator, had previously lived in an older Redrow property just 10 miles away in Pool-in-Wharfedale, but it was really only big enough for two. So when Grace came along the couple wanted something a little larger.

The elegant end-terrace they’ve chosen is part of Redrow’s Georgian-inspired Regent Collection.

“We loved the style of the Argyle with the open layout on the ground floor and the separate lounge on the first – that's a grown up area for us to retire to in the evenings, Grace won't be allowed in,” jokes Andy.

Andy says they wanted to buy a Redrow home because they were already confident of the quality and they had their eye on Harrogate, recently named in The Sunday Times ‘Best Places to Live’ list, for some time. He adds: “Where we lived previously was lovely but it was a small village that didn't have great connections.

“We liked Devonshire Gardens because it was on the edge of town and because you can walk into Harrogate in 10 minutes. It is also easy for me to get to work in Leeds from here either by car, rail or bus.

“We knew the area and the schools are good, which is crucial now we have Grace, we love walking and there are lots of good walks around – and we love eating out and Harrogate has got loads of really good restaurants. It's perfect.”

So far Andy and Sandra have got the downstairs and first floor just as they want them and have been getting the nursery ready for their beautiful baby girl.

And Andy smiles: “I am really enjoying family life in our new home and I love being a dad – the lack of sleep is a small price to pay.”

Award-winning developer Redrow has got a stunning collection of two, three, four and five-bedroom properties at the delightful development off Claro Road, Harrogate.

And with four and five-bedroom properties currently available from £344,950, buyers could be moving into their new home this summer.
