Trainees' designs on new show home

WITH a One Direction themed room, fans of the boy band will be at home at Redrow’s Sandringham Gardens development in Wakefield.

The homes in West Ardsley have attracted strong interest from buyers with several reservations secured at a special preview event for those who had registered their interest in the development.

Recognising that being able to view a property is an important part of the home buying process, Redrow opened the doors to a three-bedroom Warwick style show home.

The interior design of the property was inspired by graduate trainee Andrew Welton and trainee area sales manager Laura Sykes.

Patsy Aicken, sales director for Redrow Homes (Yorkshire), commented: “It’s important that Andrew and Laura think about who are customers are and by creating mood boards for the interior designers they were able to really picture who would buy a home at Sandringham Gardens and how their home would look. They’ve really done a fantastic job and our professional designers from Show Business Interiors have brought many of their ideas to life in the show home.”

The three-bedroom Warwick show home, with its traditional lap larch boarding, is a prime example of how Redrow’s New Heritage Collection combines the best of old and new as inside it’s bright, modern and full of family friendly features.

Andrew admits that initially he was daunted at the prospect of choosing the look for the show home, but enjoyed the task and was delighted that the interior designers took his and Laura’s ideas on board.

Andrew said: “I’m a massive sports fan and I’m passionate about Rugby League so wanted the boy’s room to reflect this. It’s been dressed with a Wakefield Wildcats fan in mind, which will be a talking point for visitors as some people in this area will support them and others will favour Leeds Rhinos.”

In contrast, Laura created a very girly room.

Laura explains: “Because Zayn Malik is from nearby Bradford we decided to give the daughter of the family’s bedroom a One Direction theme. And because so many young girls want to be pop stars we’ve also put a karaoke machine in there.”

Sandringham Gardens offers a choice of three and four-bedroom homes, with current prices from £232,950.

There are good local schools nearby, making it the ideal home for those with children.

Located in Haigh Moor Road, the homes are five miles from Wakefield and seven miles from Leeds, making them good commuter bases with nearby stations in Dewsbury, Batley and Morley offering frequent services to Huddersfield and Bradford.

The new show home at Sandringham Gardens is now open daily from 10am to 5.30pm.
