We’re supporting an Oxfordshire football club by redeveloping their training facilities and creating a community hall for wider community events in the village.
Our Thames Valley division, currently building at Blaise Park, on Mitchell Way, has invested more than £480,000 to support the redevelopment of Milton United Football Club’s training ground, including creating a brand-new community and sports pavilion with modern changing facilities and a new training pitch for the team’s youth division. The funds will also benefit the wider local community, with a new community hall which will feature a large community room for events, that will also house a social club each night of the week.
To ensure the team’s next generation of players are a cut above the rest, our contribution will include creating a brand-new training pitch for the team’s youth division.
Andy Burchette, Chairman of Milton United Football Club said: “This contribution will make a huge difference to Milton United FC, with the potential to increase the activities we can support to the new and upgraded facilities our players can play and train in.
“We are seeing the emergence of much needed infrastructure improvements to our immediate area which will support both the new Redrow funded community, sports pavilion and ongoing development of our pitches. The Redow support has been more than just ‘financial’ and this is greatly appreciated and will enable us to push forward as a club.
“This improving outlook for our future has already been a great source of motivation and excitement among the membership, players and supporters. We are a community orientated club and we aim to achieve a positive increase in participation from across the community. We look forward to inviting the Redrow team to watch us play and train when the new facilities are finished.”
Sarah Boyce, Sales Director for Thames Valley, said: “We’re delighted to be supporting our neighbours at Milton FC.
“Football is more than just a game; it brings communities together who share a love for the sport and creates a unity not just between those who support the same team, but between those who love the game regardless of their badge. Playing sport is also a great way to support physical and mental wellbeing, and with Milton FC’s training ground just a short walk from our Blaise Park development, we’re sure the players will inspire our residents to be more active.
“We are committed to creating a positive impact on the surrounding area in which we build and are thrilled to be helping ensure the longevity of this fantastic team. We look forward to coming along and seeing the team in action soon – who knows, maybe a Redrow vs Milton FC game is on the horizon!”
With three, four and five-bedroom homes available from £460,000, Blaise Park offers the ideal balance of rural living and great connections to surrounding towns, including Abingdon and Didcot. The centre of Oxford is just 11 miles away from the development, and the nearby Didcot Parkway train station means you can travel to Reading or Swindon in around 15 minutes, Oxford in 30 minutes, and London Paddington in less than an hour.
There is a primary school on your doorstep, and a brand-new secondary school nearby, meaning the development couldn’t be more convenient for families, and is perfect for couples looking to find their forever home.
