Couple start a new chapter
“Moving to St Michael’s Meadow was an easy choice for us – we love Alphington and know the area very well, so we knew we wanted to start the next chapter of our lives here. When we heard that Redrow were building in Alphington, we were very excited! We had seen so many houses from different developers, but immediately fell in love with the Heritage Collection from Redrow as it has so much character – especially in comparison with other new build properties,” Emily explained.
“We love to spend time at the Exeter Golf and Country Club, so it’s great that we are still close to all the activities we enjoy. We love the convenience the development offers, as we can easily jump on the motorway, and it’s only a short drive into Exeter city centre. Redrow’s quality and customer service is second to none; they helped us through the whole process, and we have settled into life at St Michael’s Meadow very well. Everyone we’ve met is super friendly. We are excited to see the community grow!”
Newlyweds’ new home
First-time buyers Dermot and Lauren were first to reserve a new home at The Maltings, in Haddenham. They’d been married almost a year when they started their home search and were attracted to the four-bedroom Harrogate.
“We were keen to continue married life together with a blank canvas so that everything was in place for us to make our first official house together a home, as we hopefully welcome some little ones in the years to come. We loved the idea of moving to a new development and the community feel that comes when people all share a similar experience at the same time,” Lauren said.
Home is where the heart is
Gerard, his wife Christina and youngest child, Niamh love the location of their new home.
“We’d come to look at Ledsham Garden Village about two years ago and just fell in love with the place, but for one reason or another, jobs, moving… we just didn’t get around to it,” Gerard explained.
“Then with me about to retire, it seemed the time was right – and we had set our hearts on it.
“The way the village is set out is lovely, you have this beautiful pastoral scene with the village green, and planting and pergolas everywhere. It’s like stepping back in time for all the right reasons. It’s so friendly, and you get this nice vibe, there’s a real community spirit, and it’s that that I just love.
Love at first “site”
“When we walked onto the Woodford site, we loved it. It had a good feeling about it, it has the most amazing views – you can see Lyme Park, Shrigley Hall and White Nancy on Kerridge Hill in Bollington – and there is a feeling of space and lovely green areas,” Jackie said.
“We really liked the style of the houses too, with the high ceilings and the way they were designed, and when we walked into a Stratford End show home we all said ‘this is it’.
“I love the home – and my energy bills are a quarter of what they were in my old house.”
Finding “the one”
Celene has been sharing details of how she and husband Will fell in love with their Redrow home on Instagram, posting as @stonehill_meadow, the name of our development in lower Stondon Bedfordshire.
Following their home preview, Celene posted: “I am in love 😍. The house is beautiful and we love all the choices we made.”
The family celebrated their “red bow day” in November when they moved into their three-bedroom Eco Electric Letchworth in November.
Romancing about the view from her bedroom she added: “I love the view from our bedroom window, watching the sunrise is beautiful. I absolutely love it! I feel so lucky I can’t believe it’s my view!”
Celene also loves that when you open the front door, you can see straight through from the hallway to the rear garden.
The heart of the home kitchen was also a favourite feature for the couple. “We both love entertaining, so to have an open plan area with plenty of light was a must,” Celene posted.
Happy ever after
Claire had wanted an older property with charm and character, while husband John-Paul preferred the convenience of a new home. They found their match with a visit to Foxbridge Manor in Castle Donington.
“We visited Foxbridge Manor to look at the show homes and fell in love with The Oxford – it ticked all the boxes for both of us, with the character I wanted plus all the benefits of a new-build,” Claire said.
“We have no more plans to move again – this is our forever home now.”
Couple plan for future family
“We didn’t know exactly what the Chester would look like, but we knew we loved Redrow homes, with their modern interiors and traditional exteriors – so much more aesthetically pleasing than other new homes in the area,” said Lauren.
“It’s a lovely property, and we are already really settled… and it’s good to know that if children come along in the future we won’t need – or want – to move.”
Family feel the love
“I wanted to invest the money wisely and in something that I could look at and think ‘mum’s done this for us’,” said Fiona.
“I’m so proud of our new home that makes me think of my mum, and I think she would be too.”
Fiona, a ward sister at Liverpool’s Heart and Chest Hospital, added: “We love the massive kitchen and we spend a lot of time in there; we have a lovely view and outlook. We chose the plot because at the front all we overlook are a lake and the farmer’s fields – we can see alpacas from our bedroom – and at the back we’re not overlooked at all.”
