Redrow supports three local charities with more than £1,700

22nd February 2024
Redrow News Redrow supports three local charities with more than 1700

Redrow is supporting three Tamworth organisations in their missions to support the community.

We are currently building at Amington Garden Village, on Mercian Way, and have donated more than £1,700 in total to the Tamworth Street Angels, Lichfield & Tamworth NCT Group and the 1st Mile Oak Brownies, as part of our Community Fund initiative.

The fund, which was launched earlier this year, provides local organisations with donations to help them thrive, with local causes encouraged to apply for their share of a £10,000 pot.

Tamworth Street Angels work to keep those enjoying a night out in the town to stay safe, offering voluntary first aid, street cleaning and a listening ear. The donation of £930 will support the charity to continue operating for another year, used to replenish resources and cover the charity’s running costs.

The Lichfield & Tamworth NCT Group applied for £750 in funding to train up councillors to support new parents in the area with feeding their newborns, ensuring they feel comfortable and confident, no matter what method they choose.

The 1st Mile Oak Brownies also received their share of the pot, receiving £100 to support STEM learning to enable young people in Tamworth to work towards their STEM badge.

Alison Newbold, Unit Leader at the 1st Mile Oak Brownies, said: “We are a small Brownie unit, keen to enable our young people to widen their STEM abilities by taking part in new activities such as science experiments and learning how to use tools. These skills are vital in learning and development and widen their knowledge and aspirations for the future – whatever that may look like. We are grateful to Redrow for their kind donation and look forward to achieving our new badges – who knows, perhaps we have some future house builders in our midst!”

Elaine Cartwright, sales director for our Midlands division, added: “We are delighted to be able to support three wonderful Tamworth organisations as part of our latest Midland’s Community Fund initiative. Developing life skills, supporting new parents and keeping people safe on a night out all contributes to creating a thriving, safe, and happy community here in Tamworth, which is something we strive for here at Redrow. We look forward to seeing the funding being used to benefit local people.”

Amington Fairway, Amington Green and Eagle Gate at Amington are part of the popular Amington Garden Village development, which offers a choice of two, three, four and five-bedroom properties.

These sought-after homes are part of our award-winning Heritage Collection and located just three miles from Tamworth’s town centre.

The development provides a rural setting with excellent commuter links, including easy reach of the A5, M42 and M6 Toll.
