Our Midlands division has donated almost £600 to Parklands Riding for the Disabled as part of its community fund.
We’re currently building at Amington Garden Village, on Mercian Way, and are dedicated to supporting local communities in and around our developments. This donation forms part of our Midlands Community Fund, which will see us donate a total of £5,000 to local organisations throughout 2022.
Parklands Riding for the Disabled, part of a larger, nationwide network, enables those with physical and learning disabilities to enjoy activities such as horse riding and carriage driving. The charity also provides therapy and fitness sessions as well as skills development with no age restriction.
The funds received will go towards the creation of a sensory garden, including an open fronted shed, featuring a mud kitchen.
Alison Ramseier, Chair and Coach at Parklands Riding for the Disabled, said: “We were really pleased to receive Redrow Midlands’ donation.
“While we mainly promote horse riding and animal therapy as a way to support local people of all ages, the donation will enable us to expand our offering and cater to different needs. Our sensory garden will be a wonderful addition to our centre and no doubt provide a quiet area to enjoy a range of activities – perfect for those who may need a time out or perhaps relax after their session.
“Thank you to the Redrow Midlands team; we’re looking forward to unveiling our mud kitchen very soon.”
Elaine Cartwright, Sales Director for Midlands, said: “We were delighted to be able to support Parklands RDA.
“Since their inception, they’ve supported many individuals and families with complex needs, encouraging them to spend time outdoors and promoting animal therapy. We loved hearing all about their plan to expand their offering and create such a valuable multi-purpose space – from the mud kitchen we funded to the garden area they’re currently growing.
“We’re looking forward to visiting the sensory garden once complete.”
